Estonia is the least religious country in the world – only 14% of inhabitants claim any religious beliefs.
Estonians tend to be at least bilingual, and according to recent studies, are among the best English speakers in Europe. Many visitors tend to think that Estonians speak elvish. This magical sounding language is in fact Estonian, belonging to the Finno Ugric branch of European languages.
Skype, Hotmail and Kazaa were founded and developed in Estonia, wi-fi is widely available in the public spaces and all Estonian schools are connected to the internet.
The Song Festival, held every five years in Tallinn, is famous for the highest number of choral singers on stage at once. All together 34,000 people turn up to sing, up to 18,000 people can be on stage at the same time and over 200, 000 people attend the event. That’s nearly 1/6 of the entire population.
The Estonian currency was the Kroon, but they have joined the Euro-zone and Euro is their official currency now
